H.264/AVC Baseline Profile Encoder/Decoder for DRP

Product Overview

TMC has developed and commercialized an original IP for a low-CPU-load H.264/AVC encoder/decoder by hybrid processing of DRP and CPU, which are installed in RZ/A2M.
This software is H.264/AVC (a highly efficient image compression standard standardized in ISO/IEC 14496-10) compliant, so there is no need to concern about compatibility like with proprietary standards.

Features

[Decoder]

  • WVGA 30fps decoding is achieved by Cortex-A9 with 50% CPU load.
  • The decoded image is output in YCbCr4:2:2 format, allowing LCD output without format conversion.

[Encoder]

  • WVGA 30fps encoding is achieved by Cortex-A9 with less than 40% CPU load。
  • By using the MIPI camera which supports YCbCr4:2:2 format, it is possible to encode without format conversion.
